Dragon Quest 25th Anniversary Heads to Wii on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Square Enix is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its beloved Dragon Quest RPG series with a compilation disc for the Wii.

The publisher first leaked details on the official Dragon Quest Twitter page, confirming the existence of an anthology of classic Dragon Quest titles akin to Nintendo's efforts with Super Mario's equally important birthday.

The disc will be titled Famicom & Super Famicom Dragon Quest I・II・III and contain the first three games in the series, including the SNES editions that followed. All these games will be compatible with the GameCube, Classic or regular Wii Remote, once again letting fans and Dragon Quest newcomers embrace the classic Enix RPG on their living-room sets.

When you've got a publisher like EA, who can put out a tremendous value like The Orange Box, it boggles my mind that two of the biggest franchises in the history of gaming get a couple of old roms on a DVD.
Like the Mario Anniversay SNES port, this is another case of giving the bare minimum to make a quick buck. This is the equivalent of buying your wife a can opener on your 25th wedding anniversary.

Well, that's great news! Will we get it over here as well?

So NES and SNES versions of the 3 games? Sure, here's my $50!
