The creator of long-lost SNES RPG Live-a-Live has stated his interest in remaking the game for the new generation. Takahashi Tokita may be more famous for his work on Final Fantasy IV, but that does not mean people have completely the Japanese-only Live-a-Live from the Super Famicom (SNES), and neither has he. Speaking in an interview about Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection on PSP, he was asked about the idea of bringing the quirky battle-centric RPG back from the dead. His response was as follows:
Definitely, if the fans request it, I’d love to do that. In my experience, Live-a-Live’s omnibus style of multiple chapters was a learning experience and an element I brought over to [Final Fantasy IV:] The After Years. That’s why that game has multiple chapters, as well.Hmm...for the current market and times I think downloadable by chapter would be the best way to do it. And then, if you download all of them you can play the final episode. Please request it!
Would you be interested in a remake of this intriguing Japanese-only release from yesteryear that featured a soundtrack from Yoko Shimomura as well?
