It has been confirmed that Nintendo of Europe will be helping with the launch of Dead or Alive: Dimensions for 3DS. Whilst Cubed3 had been sitting on this news for some time now, it appears that word has leaked elsewhere and the proverbial cat is out of the bag.
Back in Amsterdam at the Nintendo 3DS event Nintendo held there, Tecmo Koei confirmed that Team Ninja had been looking for the right home for its latest game and 3DS seemed perfect. The game's release in Japan has been delayed in Japan due to the terrible events that have happened there recently, but it is still on track for its Western debut.
Some UK retailers had been listing Dead or Alive: Dimensions as a launch day, 25th March release, yet something else was going on behind the scenes. Just as Nintendo of Europe has taken Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (check out C3's review here) under its wing, so will it do the same with the highly rated portable edition of long-running fighting series Dead or Alive.
The idea is that Nintendo will do exactly what it did with Capcom's Monster Hunter tri last year, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective a couple of months ago, and even Tecmo Koei's Samurai Warriors 3 for Wii, in other words it will offer support with advertising, distribution and various other promotional aspects to ensure the game gets as much coverage as Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition is receiving at the moment.
With The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D being lined up for June in Europe, Nintendo is presently planning on squeezing Dead or Alive: Dimensions out sometime in May, although official confirmation will only arrive when the Press Release hits.
Will you be picking up Dead or Alive: Dimensions over Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, or maybe even buying both?
