Ocarina of Time 3DS to Include Master Quest? on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Those who missed out on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest on its previous release as a bonus disc included with The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, may be happy to know Nintendo will apparently be releasing it again. This time, the company is including it in the Ocarina of Time remake on the 3DS, presumably with improved visuals and not just a port.

A Nintendo representative has claimed this, though it's not 100% confirmed true yet.

Master Quest included everything the original game offered, but dungeons and temples were made harder with changes made to them. More enemies were also placed around and were made tougher to beat.

I'd love for this to be true. I'm worried it won't happen though. These days, it's more likely for Nintendo to add Super Guide than a mode like Master Quest. Smilie

I still think Majoras mask should be chopped up into DCL as originally intended and maybe the same for Master quest, or maybe be able to unlock it after completing the game, that's a good reward.

MM as DLC? You sure about that? Not for me, thanks. I love MM and seriously hope Nintendo do the same for that game as they've done for OOT here. Hopefully the Master Quest thing is true. They must have had a lot of requests from fans to put it in the game.

Master Quest being essentially the same game, there's no reason for them not to include it... except for financial purposes...

I played MQ, but it's not as good as the normal OoT. The dungeons were harder, but also unlogical and sometimes frustrating. But still, it's a nice addition. Smilie

I have seen that video, though it doesn't officially confirm it. There's been times in the past when Nintendo representatives have said games will feature certain extras and it hasn't been true.

Until we hear it from a higher-up from Nintendo or see it, I don't think it can be officially confirmed.

Agreed. But its certainly nicer to play then replaying OoT again if you have played OoT within a few years, so its a wonderfull addition.

Makes this more like "MarioDX" style of release Smilie

This would actually be fantastic news for me as despite owning the Master Quest on the Wind Waker bonus disk, and on the Zelda collection (I think) I've never actually got round to playing it.

Same with me. I got to Jabu Jabu's Belly but never played it again for some reason. It's hard for me to play older games on the TV for some reason. With Master Quest being done for the 3DS (hopefully) I'll probably play through it right after I beat the original game.

In fact, maybe we were not supposed to know about MQ and it was going to be a surprise after we beat the game once.

Whilst MQ was a nice addition to OOT I cant really see the point of it being included with the remake. Personally id rather see the inclusion of a difficulty slider or the option to activate certain elements of MQ as and when.

In MQ they altered stuff like puzzles, so a slider that you can change when you see fit wouldn't work. They could certainly add a difficulty slider that affects enemies and such though.

MQ would definitely be a nice addition. But, to be honest, I'd much rather they included MM and maybe even a MM:MQ.

I remember doing a back flip through a wall of fire in the Fire Temple in MQ and thinking it was a glitch. I restarted the game only to find that that was the only way to do it. =.=
