It has been confirmed that Nintendo will be working alongside Capcom to promote Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition on Nintendo 3DS as one of the key launch day titles.
Nintendo of Europe and Nintendo of Australia will actually be working alongside Capcom to release the eagerly awaited 3DS fighter in PAL territories as part of the programme Satoru Iwata is pushing, whereby Third Parties take the lead during the Nintendo 3DS launch period. With Nintendo on-board to help with the sales, marketing and distribution of Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, we could be set to see the series selling almost as well as it did when launching alongside the Super Nintendo back in the 1990s!
On a slightly related point, do not forget Cubed3's recent exclusive revelation that Yoshinori Ono, the main man behind Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, expressed a strong desire to create a Capcom vs. Nintendo fighting game. Since asking the question and breaking the news of his positive answer a couple of weeks ago, as well as unleashing his follow-up Twitter confirmation to Cubed3 a few days later, the Internet has exploded with fans desperate for Ono-san to team with Masahiro Sakurai-san on such a project, to the point where even IGN is running a special feature on the idea.
If Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition proves successful, do you feel the Nintendo 3DS should be treated to Capcom vs. Nintendo next?
