Off-Screen Star Fox 64 3DS Footage on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Fox, Falco and friends are making a welcome return to interplanetary barrel rolls and space fights in off-screen Star Fox 3DS footage.

The fan-favourite Star Fox 64 (Lylat Wars for those in Europe) was one of the ground breaking titles back in the day and is set to reignite the action for fans and newcomers alike. Improved visuals, texture work and extra 3D effects are the main improvements we've heard of so far.

Craft control is done with the analogue pad, with lasers, bombs, accelerate/break mapped to the face buttons. Shoulder buttons are used for those evasive moves and all-important barrel roll.

"Do a barrel roll!" Anything for you Peppy!

It's looking gorgeous.

I'm probably going to get it since I didn't get the original, played it though.

Good to bring the youngins who never played Star Fox 64 up to date. Now they'll understand the meme better and all the other quotes from that game.

Come to think of it there are alot of quotables from that game. The voice acting was fantastic... in a bad way Smilie

With that being said... I wonder if those will still be in the game? And whether they'd change the VA or just keep the same sound files?

I hope they keep the original sound files, would be pretty lame otherwise!

Lylat Wars is one of the few examples of excellent voice acting on a Nintendo game.

If it's replaced, I highly doubt it will be anywhere near as good as the original voice recordings and sound more like the ones in Assault.
