Sega has unveiled a trailer for Super Monkey Ball 3DS, a game which is scheduled for release on Nintendo's 3DS in 2011.
Not impressed, the graphics look poor and unpolished, and it has nothing to do with the classic Monkey Ball style being used. It also looks like it's had nothing really new added to the gameplay mechanics.
This game appears to be nothing more than a quick cash-in attempt by Sega. - *boo*
I can't help feeling that if I played that in 3D I end up feeling sick.
The visuals remind me of the Nintendo 64.
Very dull.

Dulls the word, they just seem to lack that extra gloss you'd expect from such a game. Some models look crude by today's standards.

I have to agree :/
Well, we all know that the 3DS can do way better in the graphic department (Resident Evil anyone?). Looks lazy from Sega's side, I agree. But maybe, just ,maybe they'll work a bit on it?
I have never played a MB game before. Just didn't catch my curiousity, but I actually want to test this game out just for the darn 3D. Like some other games... Just like golf games on the Wii. I hated golf games, and now I'm hooked-...
To Nintendo from my bank account: YOU BASTARDS!
I always preferred the old Monkey Ball style.

Yeah, I preferred it as well, it looked better.
Edit: on second thought, there's a lot of aliasing, I wonder if they'll bother with it without the 3D?

round shadows for the banana's? Surely we can do better then that?
The trailer makes it look like it is controlled by tilting the DS.

Yea, but that wont be the case. Nintendo have already said that motion controls and 3D simply don't work in conjunction with each other It's easy to see why given how 3DS 3D works.
I'm looking forward to a non-3D Kororinpa.

So if you look down on the DS and tilt your head with it then it works.
...
wahhu....what happened with my post
[/confused]
Anyway, I just meant as long as your head position is always "straight on" to the DS you can move the DS and yourself at the same time.
I'm not sure how comfortable that would be but it should work.
No one wants to do that though.
I probably won't be using the 3D, myself. Unless they make games where you have to use it.
They could always just make the tilt an optional mode. You'd have to turn the 3D off of course but there's no reason they couldn't give users the option of which one to use, 3D or tilt.
