Nintendo's CEO, Satoru Iwata, has spoken briefly about the possibility of the 3DS connecting to Wii. Many people have been wondering if Nintendo would follow the trend of inter-system connectivity, given how the Game Boy Advance could hook-up to the GameCube, and the DS and Wii can be connected via local wireless to the transferral of data or to even use the DS as a controller in some cases.
Iwata-san was asked whether the 3DS will indeeed connect to Wii, or other future Nintendo home consoles, to which he responded: "We believe that, naturally, instant communication between the 3DS and a console in your home will become one topic in the future, but today I cannot talk about specifics regarding the kinds of things you can do in terms of connectivity between a 3DS and console." This was followed up, though, by the suggestion that Nintendo is always looking into new ideas on the connectivity front, "We'll surely be thinking about connectivity with consoles as well."
What sort of functionality would you like to see between the Nintendo 3DS and Wii, or other home consoles?
