Sonic 4 - Mad Gear Zone Footage on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

SEGA has released new footage of the fourth zone in the upcoming first downloadable episode of Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

It wouldn't be a Sonic game without some form of highly machine driven level, and Mad Gear is no exception. Packed to the brim with classic cogs, pulleys and familiar badnicks to block the way - it's Metropolis zone mark two!

Ahhhh did I just see one of those cunt exploding starfish things from the original Metropolis zone! Fuck them!

What jimmy said. Those were the worst.

You're pulling me in SEGA...you're pulling me in...

Nice! So many Metropolis Zone inspirations!

I shan't comment much. Smilie

Now where's episode 2? Smilie

I read on the Sonic Wiki page that episode 2 will be released in September 2011. If whether or not this is true I don't know, but I will not be holding my breath over this speculation.

A few things I want Sega to fix, the uncurling thing and to change the super sonic theme and casino level theme, then I'd be extremely happy. Although even if they don't get fixed I'll still enjoy the game.

I don't know why SEGA would want to change the Super Sonic theme. Since Sonic 2 his theme has always been the main theme music for all Sonic games. If SEGA changed that music then it would not be right to have Super Sonic running to a different theme. Also the uncurling will not be changed since the final build is finished and is going to be released in under 2 weeks.

Yeah but imo the Super sonic music is horrible xD
Also I know they won't change it but it's a bit of a retarded move if ya ask me.

Its only the main theme. Nothing else. Don't see what the problem is. This is how its been for years.

It just doesn't suit it imo. Some people may like it by I don't.

In Sonic 3 and Sonic&Knuckles, the Super Sonic theme was the same as the invincibility theme.

In Sonic 2 however, Super Sonic had his own music.

This is the invincibility theme.

This is Super Sonic's Music

Very cool music. Smilie

And the invincibility theme for both Sonic 3 and Sonic 3 and Knuckles was the main title theme of the games.

Yeah the super sonic theme in sonic 2 was brilliant Smilie
Also I'm not saying I dislike the music but I just don't think it fit's for super sonic very well, however the music used in sonic 3/sonic 3 and knuckles for super sonic suited it.

I was gonna say that! It's starting to look a bit like a remake of Sonic 2. Sonic 2 was my favourite though so that's alright.

You guys must remember though that it's been ages since Sonic 2 - he's put on a few pounds, stayed in watching Mobius TV instead of exercising and had way too many hotdogs. This is why he's slow and clunky!

The only thing I don't like in that trailer is the fact that the screen rotates when you go through a loop, could make you feel dizzy after a while. It does make use of the Iphone, but I think it will put a lot of people off it. The graphics are looking nice and crisp, so I think it will do well on Iphone/touch.
