During the Nintendo conference in Japan today, company president Satoru Iwata confirmed a 2011 release for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
Whilst the game has been penned for a release next year in previous occasions, the publisher was keen to remind fans that the new game will roll, slash and explode onto Nintendo Wii next year. The new game takes full advantage of the MotionPlus technology, allowing Link to be that little-bit more precise with his sword strokes and bow, crank a devious new whip and roll explosives casually along the ground.
Skyward Sword is a likely contender to take advantage of Nintendo's newly announced Wii Remote Plus, which combines both the standard Wii Remote and MotionPlus into a single unit.
It's uncertain whether this includes regions outside Japan, but expect the game to at least be available worldwide before the end of 2012.
