Level-5 Not Collaborating with Capcom on Ace Attorney? on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Earlier this week it was revealed that Capcom was workin with Level-5 on an unannounced project. Could it be a new Ace Attorney game? Speaking in an interview at the Tokyo Games Show, Capcom's Keiji Inafune and Level-5's Akihiro Hino revealed that the studios are working together in some capacity on "some truly interesting things."

An now, via a post by Level-5's Jiro Ishii, it seems the project is Gyakuten/Ace Attorney released as he mentions "Gyakuten. I’m working on it with Takumi-san", with Takumi-san being the creator of Capcom's popular detective series. Level-5 is known for the Professor Layton and Inazuma Strikers franchises.

Could Capcom and Level-5 be working together on a new Ace Attorney / Gyakuten Saiban game?

Update - Could this all have been a big misunderstanding? Could it be that Level-5 is not actually working with Capcom on a new Ace Attorney game after all? Well, according to Jiro Ishii, the man behind 428 on Wii, it was a case of people clutching at straws since he is currently working hard on Time Travellers, the new Level-5 title thought to be coming to 3DS, and the 'Gyakuten' comment was related to nothing more than a personal message to a developer friend.

Wait. WHAT.

When I posted in Squiddy's thread, I was just speculating/dreaming.

If Capcom worked with Level 5 to make an Ace Attorney game, it would just be the greatest thing, okay.
Oh my god ;v;

I'd bet they'll do it as the first Ace Attorney for the 3DS Smilie

Good news, AA is certainly a franchise that could do with Level-5's expertise. I'm guessing the game will be a 3DS one.

Love both developers and Ace Attorney! Anything that come out of this will be awesome I'm sure. Definitely looking forward to AA5 - perhaps on Wii?

Well when rumours start flying around there are bound to be misunderstandings.

It sounded too good to be true anyway, I can't see Capcom teaming up with another dev for such a smalltime franchise.

However I guess we can speculate all we like until something concrete is revealed.

Yea, this has been confirmed as false by Jiro Ishii.

I'm glad it's not AA. I want something new or something else from Capcom's back catalogue.

Too bad it was only a rumour ;-;

Seriously, AA gameplay meets Professor Layton gameplay would've been the best thing ever. Smilie
