Capcom Drop Coins into Wii Virtual Console on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Capcom has confirmed plans to introduce some of its classic arcade hits on the Wii Virtual Console service in Japan this summer.

The first of hopefully many releases will be a side scrolling platformer Sonson. Featuring a monkey boy and a co-op pig, the game took many a coin back in 1984 and eventually landed on the Famicom (remaining only in Japan).

With Capcom having a strong arcade presence in the West, it is likely that some of these games will eventually make their way over, but for now plans remain Japan-exclusive.

Good deal. Capcom is awesome!

Mario, Mega Man and Rayman FTW!!!

I read something about this on Capcom Unity, This is great news, we need developers like Capcom supporting these services. Capcom have some awesome games in their arcade catalogue.

I sincerely hope the West gets these too.
