With the 3DS taking Nintendo's connectivity further, a wireless company has been in talks with hardware producers into using 3G.
According to Nintendo Life, Ryuji Yamada, president of Japanese wireless company NTT DoCoMo, revealed a possibility of incorporating wireless 3G features in future portables.
3G is used in many smart phones and devices, like Apple's iPad, to provide internet connectivity when Wi-Fi isn't available.
Whilst not giving away any names Yamada said that NTT DoCoMo had been in talks with portable console manufactures into incorporating 3DS. However Nintendo have always been keen to keep costs for using a console's features "in the box" - subscriptions and additional fees kept to a minimum, so it might be down to an optional provider to support 3G connectivity.
