The japanese page for the upcoming Mario Sports Mix for Wii reveals that Square Enix will be handling development duties.

According to Siliconera the RPG giant will be working on the next sports game for Wii. Square Enix has worked on Mario games before, the first being the sublime SNES epic, Super Mario RPG, and the second, a more relevant Mario Hoops 3-on-3.

So with the experience learnt from 3-on-3, the team will be pushing the concept onto the Wii with various team based sports for the Mushroom Kingdom folk to enjoy.

Excellent, I was hoping this would be the case. 3on3 was great, and I'm sure they'll find ways to make the other included sports super fun.

Plus with the possibility of Final Fantasy cameos like in 3on3... consider this game on my to buy list.

Looks okay, in my opinion. It's not something that I'd buy though, It doesn't interest me.

It's good to hear Square Enix are working on it though.

As SuperLink stated, I assumed SquareEnix was working with Nintendo on this title too due to Mario 3on3. I wonder if there will be special moves in all the sports games like in the DS sports title as well.

This was already known though.... Developer was already set as SE....

When I firstsaw this game I thought it looked a bit like Mario Hoops 3-on-3. I think I'll probably not be getting this though.
