Ubisoft's Just Dance was a huge success when it was released on Nintendo Wii in time for Christmas last year. Perhaps to the embarrassment of some, it was the game that knocked Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from the top spot in the UK charts. With that performance, it was only natural that Just Dance 2 would be announced sooner rather than later.
When it shimmies into the shops later on this year, Just Dance 2 will feature over 40 new hit tracks to shake your thing to, including modern tracks such as Vampire Weekend's A-Punk and Pussycat Dolls' When I Grow Up, as well as classics like James Brown's I Got You (I Feel Good). There's an all-new party mode that removes the need to navigate menus between songs, too, and a fitness mode that shows how many calories you're sweating off.
You'll also find support for co-operative and competitive dancing: it might be just a duo of players, or you could form two crews of up to four players and enjoy some eight-player dance-offs. Every move contained within is choreographed by professional dancers from a variety of genres, so there'll be something to please/challenge/infuriate everybody undoubtedly.
With Just Dance 2 releasing on Wii close to the end of the year, will Activision have to blame Call of Duty's eventual chart-topple on the boogie once again? Time will tell...
Did you enjoy the first Just Dance, and will you picking this up?
