New Prince of Persia Wii Trailer on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Ubisoft has sent out the latest trailer for the upcoming Wii-specific editon of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, which is set for release in Europe on 28th May, 2010.

There have been many different Princes of Persia, but now the one from the classic 'The Sands of Time' trilogy (and the new movie) returns for what is set to be his greatest adventure yet.

The kingdom of the Prince's older brother is under siege and as a last ditch effort to save it, the sands of time are unleashed once again. The Prince's usual acrobatic skills will only get him so far this time, as you face more dangerous enemies and an army of the undead. To help you on your quest there is a whole range of elemental powers to master, as players turn water fountains into ice columns to clamber up or upgrade abilities such as a tornado summons into devastating attacks. Every power you can get will be required too as you take on giant monsters and fight dozens of enemies at a time.

Is this me or does this look like it could have been a Dreamcast game!

It's odd that the trailer says 20th May...yet the release date is meant to be Friday, 28th May. Games don't launch in Europe on a Thursday. Hmm... Smilie

I liked rival swords. And I liked two thrones most - why is it everybody keeps talking to each other about repeated statements about the thing being too gothy? Posers!

Two thrones, to me, was a dream come true. Cinematic action platforming, really deep combo system with the coolest finishers, strongest soundtrack in a long while - atmosphere and hardrock everywhere, I loved it.

Rival swords, in its form, was a bit awkward. Not the flair of sands of time, not the strength of two thrones. Yet, the atmosphere in it was brilliant.

This game removes the time rewind feature, and doesn't quite live up to the flair of old. I'll wait this one out for those reasons.

Oh ad monster hunter and no more heroes are helping too Smilie
