Rumour: Midway Working on Wii2? on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

A LinkedIn listing for an employee at Midway Games has suggested that work on an undisclosed title for Xbox, PS3 and Wii2.

It could be an accidental, even an intentional typo, or perhaps an indication that some studios have gotten their mitts on assets for the Wii's successor. Whatever the case Nintendo and Midway will likely refuse to comment, so it'll be sometime before we find out more information.

Or its just a game due out in, like, 3 years by which time they are sure there will be another Nintendo console which they could port too.

And an original Xbox game too! I wonder what game they could be making for a last gen, current gen, and next gen game console!

Or...you could do a tiny slight bit of research and realize that there is no Midway anymore and this fellow has an outdated LinkedIn profile, so it is not possible that "Midway" has some secret arrangement with Nintendo. Well done, credible news source!

The branch of Midway Studios based in Newcastle, UK is indeed now defunct, but Midway Games still exists in some form. Parts have been sold, rights have passed to other companies, studios have been closed...but Midway Games Inc, the parent entity, is still around. Midway has not yet been totally wiped off the face of the Earth.

Have you been following all the latest updates on the Midway situation?

Incorrect. Do more research...

I think you'll find that it's not incorrect. Midway (the parent company) is still facing various court cases right now, so are technically still partially in existence. Some parts have been bought off by other European and US companies, along with many of the licenses, but 'Midway' is still alive until the courts are done with them.

Touche, however, depends on your definition. In this article you make it seem like there are still developers working on projects for "Midway". Truth is at the present time there is only 1 fulltime employee of Midway Games Inc., and no one else

It's his profile of all works, past and present. Those are games that already came out that he worked on; like a resumé. Only the undisclosed are future games.

And he can't, what, makes games for other companies? Once the company he worked for dissolves, is he not allowed to ever work again?
