High Voltage Confirm The Conduit 2 on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

High Voltage has confirmed that a sequel of its Wii-exclusive first person shooter, The Conduit, is in the works.

According to details in the latest issue of Nintendo Power magazine (via NeoGAF), the tentatively titled The Conduit 2 aims to bring improved play in both the online and offline world. The sequel will introduce the much hoped for local spitscreen play (for 2-4 players) with new modes and the return of some of the innovative features of the first's online play.

In the single player realm High Voltage hopes to address criticisms of the original's bland art direction by trying to develop a more original world (supposedly taking place in Atlantis), larger boss battles and more varied enemy design and intelligence. You'll also be able to pump a bit more lead with new/improved weapons and accessories to aid your battle against alien foes.

Competitive folk can once again take The Conduit 2 online, offering a more balanced experience with additional rules and options.

SEGA will once again be publishing, with more details expected at this year's E3 Expo.

What do you think of a sequel to The Conduit? Are you a fan of the original - what features would you expect from High Voltage's second attempt?

Atlantis sounds lovely tbh.

Even if it does smell a bit like Rapture.

This was kind of a given in regards to art style and alien/weapons what with the ending of the game. It finished with you going through a "conduit" (portal), with showing of seemingly artwork pertaining to new places/worlds, and a direct reference to other alien species. The hidden messages in the game reference other races too.

E: In actual fact, I hope they keep the ASE/Hidden messages. They were a nice touch and added a lot of background and interest to an otherwise standard story.

Hopefully they'll do a better job, the first wasn't 'that' bad. I think most of us (or me at least) we're just hoping for a lot more...

The faite of the Wii version of Grinder will deside to get his or not for me.

Great news! Smilie

I really liked the first game despite it's problems. They'll be able to improve a lot with the sequel. Looking forward to it. Smilie

Sounds intriguing. I hope they make good on these promises.
Atlantis is a completely natural direction to take the game, it's not very surprising to me at all. I would guess that the "advanced civilization" on Atlantis is actually one of the alien races, and that perhaps, rather than sinking, it... teleported, or something? Haha, there are a lot of ways they can go with this.

Oh my god I'm so happy for The conduit 2 because The Conduit was a hit especially for me and since they are improving the artistic designs and online modes makes wanna buy it even more. Not to mention split-screen multiplayer which is an important aspect in an FPS because after you beat the campaign and you have people over what will you do? You won't play online because it's one player oh wait what about the new split-screen option
