$20 for Pre-ordering Mario Galaxy 2 Wii on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

With less than 2 months before Super Mario Galaxy 2 takes off in the US, pre-order incentives are offering fans $20 for pre-ordering.

With the game almost guaranteed to be successful in the marketplace, both Amazon and Walmart have launched offers for those who successfully order and receive their game. According to Joystiq, after it ships players will earn a discount voucher/credit worth $20 to spend on any games after receiving Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Prepare to take-off with Mario and Yoshi in Super Mario Galaxy 2 from May 23rd 2010.

I'm surprised that they would do this for a game that is guaranteed to sell millions. Seems like it would cause Amazon and Wal-Mart to lose a ton of money.

I wonder if there is a high rate of people ordering the game to get the voucher, but then not cashing them in.

Jaysus, this is nearly out? Time flies when the only game you've played in the past 6 months is Bayonetta. I can't wait for this...and we should have No More Heroes 2 in time for the final few weeks wait!

Amazon always has a $10 coupon for pre-ordering. Personally, I'd rather have a free artbook or figure for pre-ordering.
