The designer for the original Kid Icarus NES project has expressed a desire to resurrect the franchise for the Wii.
Metroid co-creator Yoshio Sakamoto, who's supervising forthcoming Wii game Metroid: Other M, recently revealed that he would like to see a new version of Kid Icarus. Sakamoto was one of the designers behind the NES original, whose game engine was also the basis behind the first Metroid. If a remake/new chapter were to be made, it would have to make sense on the platform.
I don't know personally about any project underway regarding Kid Icarus, but if so many of those people are interested in it and really want to see it on the Wii they should really speak up. If we can find some sort of way to bring it to the Wii, a way to make the game for the Wii that makes sense, we would happily do so. But just keep in mind it may not be me making the game.
Would you like to see a new Kid Icarus, perhaps in a similar setup to Metroid: Other M? It would certainly be interesting if its engine went on to power a new Kid Icarus game in a role reversal.
