Sounds good. If this deal comes to UK I'd gladly hit it up.

I would not say no to a free classic controller.

Hey, there are more countries in Europe!

Anyway, I'm pretty interested in the game right now. I just don't think I'll buy it at full price. I might search for a discounted bundle a few months later. I've never had a classic controller. (Then again, I never downloaded any VC games.)

Fixed it ^_^.

I think the bundle's a great Idea, I like the look of the Pro. I was thinking of getting a normal classic controller when I get TVsC on friday. Guess I'll just get both Smilie.

I have a Classic Controller but I never use it because most games aren't optimized for it (and you need to attach it to a Wii remote anyway). But the updated classic controller looks like an improvement. I'll probably get it since it is only $10 extra.

Looks like an utterly shit controller. I swear you Nintendo-nerds have always complained about the shape of the PlayStation controller, and in particular the placement of the sticks. Now this is revealed, and is a clone of the PS pad, except it doesn't have triggers, and has an overall boxier shape.

Looks absolutely hideous.

Hey, I still complain about the Dualshock (and this), I think they're uncomfortable and their analogues rather suck.

However, I can somehow put up with the Dualshock to play awesome games like Persona 4 and maybe someday I can put up with this. Especially if it happens to be better for TvC than the GC pad is.

And that said Martin I haven't noticed a single one of us actually praising the thing. Yes, we "Nintendo-nerds" always complain about the DualShock (because it sucks), just because we're not complaining about this now doesn't mean we weren't when it was first revealed/when we first used one Smilie

I'm only getting a classic controller for T.Vs.C, because I'd think the Wii remote/Nunchuck combo would be awkward, and I don't want to knacker out my GC analoue sticks.

Plus, the Fighting sticks quite expensive, so I'll stick with the D-Pad.

I don't see the problem with the PlayStation controller. It has rubbish triggers (who designed the triggers on the PS3 pad?), and it could maybe be a bit bigger, but that's about it. The way some of you lot go on about it being terrible = lulz. Many lulz, indeed.

It's a decent controller (and has the best D-Pad since the DC), but the analogues and shoulders just make it very uncomfortable to hold compared to its competitors, especially the GC and 360 pads. Which are like the epitome of comfy controllers.

The analogues on this new pad are in the exact same place (never got why the lower left stick bothered anyone), and what's so uncomfortable about the shoulders? I also prefer the 360 controller's shape, and definitely the triggers (keepin' the Dreamcast alive!), but it has it's own shortcomings. People always mention the 360 d-pad as being shit, and that's maybe a fair point, but no-one ever seems to mention the worst buttons in the world - the 360 pad's shoulder buttons! Clicky and unresponsive as fuck. Really crap buttons.

Go try it - pick up your 360 controller and just have a goose on those shoulder buttons - they're rubbish! Really cheap and nasty. I've had three 360 pads of my own (one went back with the RRoD 360), and have played many others. I notice it on all of them. The PlayStation pad may have more of a retro shape, but there's no crap build-quality on it anywhere. It's a consistent and excellent pad, it's just a bit old school, maybe.

I'm saying it's really lulzy just how far some people will complain about the PlayStation pad, as if it actually hurts your hand! Come on, now! Did you not play and completely bum the PSone and PS2? I did. Never had any problems then, still don't now. It's a bit old school, like I said, but on the other hand it's a nice familiar shape, too. I find that the controller doesn't so much 'fit my hand', but my hand 'fits the controller' due to sheer muscle-memory alone.

I've played far too much PlayStation in my time to have ever had a problem with the controller. The GC pad wasn't perfect. It had a shape to die for, but the button-spalcement was like a Tonka Toy. Big A button was nice (I really liked that button), the B button was alright, wasn't offending anyone. I found the X and Y buttons to be in funny places, and when using the X button in particular I'll often unintentionally mash the A button.

The triggers seemed rather vague, to me (in comparison to the excellent Dreamcast/Xbox triggers), the d-pad was too-minuscule for me, and while I liked the sticks, I wasn't too sure about them being different sizes. Might be perfect if you have a really hench left hand, and a really withered and tiny right hand (Jeremy Beadle?). The action on them (how 'resistant' they are to move) was absolutely spot-on, though. The saving grace. The Z button on the GC pad might be the worst bit of button-placement ever.

In general, I also just found the design of it a bit too 'out there' for it's own good. I played a couple games on my GameCube that were clearly hampered by an overall lack of buttons. Obviously Street Fighter was a complete no-go, but I'm not even talking about that. Some big multi-platform games had to combine buttons and stuff for certain actions on the GC version, purely because there wasn't enough buttons.

So yeah, the 360 and GC pads have faults of their own.

( Edited 27.01.2010 23:28 by Martin_ )

Well I guess the nice things about the crappy 360 shoulder buttons and the GC's crappy Z button is that they're never ever used. Hardly.

I love playing my PS1/PS2/PS3 games like crazy, but that doesn't mean I have to love the controller. I put up with it without it interfering with my gaming, but it doesn't just sink into my hands like other pads around today do.

For what it's worth, all the controllers have "button problems", but at the end of the day the Dualshock is by far the least comfortable to hold. Also the analogues still suck, after 3 gens Sony haven't tried to change it once. Indents for directions and diagonals on the GC Pad, genius! Concave analogues on the 360 pad, also a great idea. PS analogues have been nearly the same since the start, inaccurate and a little awkward. The Dualshock wouldn't annoy me so much if Sony tried to show some genuine interest in fixing things that should have been fixed years ago.

The analogues have a texture on them for your thumbs to grip. Works for me. Maybe you shouldn't lube-up before playing?

Oh no, my thumbs don't exactly slip off or anything, otherwise I'd be even more angry at them. They're just nowhere near as good as the others.

Which is something usually only Nintendo does Smilie

I'm dabbling in things at the moment, so it might just be me, but what is it that usually only Nintendo does?

Do things far worse than everyone else.
Well, lately anyway. Smilie
