Konami Bringing DSi Monster Finder to US? on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Alphaunit's DSi-exclusive camera based game, Monster Finder, might just be heading to the US via Konami.

The game uses the DSi's cameras to create monsters on screen, over 100 critters, by uncovering them in some form of augmented-reality-esque system. The brains behind the concept don't have a US branch, so Konami looks to have stepped in to help out. Batting Revolution, also from Alphaunit, may also be swinging by US retailers under a new name - Batting Cage Revolution.

Both titles are included in GameFly's listings, for a January 2010 release.

I'm not really sure a title like this will appeal much to Western audiences. I remember one of my most anticipated games was Boktai way back when. But for some reason my friends didn't like the idea of being active with a handheld game. I think it's a great concept but ultimately a very niche one.

I think the main draw will be that it's one of the first DSi-only games around...

I think they are going to pay so much attention to the concept of using the camera that they are going to forget about the general gameplay of the game.
