It's time to dust off those magnifying glasses, as Cate West: The Vanishing Files is soon to be released on Wii and DS. It's the latest game to follow the trend of the look-and-find genre shown so prominently on DS by Mystery Case Files: Millionheir, only this one's turning up on both Wii and DS.
Mystery novelist/recipient of crazy psychic dreams Cate West becomes embroiled in a series of cases that have been baffling the police - the titular Vanishing Files. Over the course of the game you've got to help Cate get to the bottom of things by seeking out evidence and poking around in places no mere novelist really belongs. Collect the right things fast enough and you'll be able to arrest criminals and attempt to convict them in a court of law.
The Wii and DS titles are not identical. In the home console version you'll be able to use the remote to clear away dust to improve your vision and play the game with friends, whereas the DS features zooming in via the d-pad. Presumably you'll get to tap things as well.
