US ND Update: Mario VS DK, Swords and Soldiers on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

This week's Nintendo Download update sees Mario and his Mini chums save poor old Pauline once again, alongside strategy action, Swords & Soldiers.

  • Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again (Nintendo, DSiWare, 800 DSi Points) - DK kidnaps Pauline once again and it's up to Mario and his Mini chumbs to rescue the damsel in distress from our hairy ape friend. Players can also create their own levels and share them via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

  • Swords & Soldiers (Ronimo Games, WiiWare, 1,000 Wii Points) - Side-scrolling strategy with single and multiplayer antics. Play as the brutal Vikings, the devious Aztecs or the crafty Chinese in their global quest to win the favor of the Gods.

  • Fish'em All! (Abylight, WiiWare, 800 Wii points) - Fishing game with arcade flavour. Play old fishermen Jack and Walter who have found the perfect spot for a little bait and reel action. 9 levels for up to 2 players.

  • Genghis Khan II: Clan of the Gray Wolf (VC - SNES, Koei, 800 Wii Points)

    All these titles are now available to buy and download by accessing the US Wii Shopping Channel.

    Is this the Mario vs DK that was announced at E3? It's just DSiWare? I must have missed that detail somehow, I thought it was gonna be a full DS game... Smilie

    ...and is apparently nowhere near as expanded as people first thought. First report I read yesterday said it was quite disappointing as there's nowhere near as much new content as expected.

    TBH, I'll wait and form my own opinion as some of the DSiWare games have come under unfair criticism. They ARE only a few £££ or $$$ after all.

    I reckon that this will be a good game because I have heard that the other games in the series have been very good. I have not played them but when I get my DSi I am going to buy this game.
