More Professor Layton Confirmed on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Level 5 head Akihiro Hino has confirmed the sequel to Professor Layton is on the way, with hopes for all 6 to be translated.

The first game in the DS series, Professor Layton and the Curious Village, was released in Europe and North America back in 2008. It was met with strong scores and now a growing number of fans gagging for more - it won't be too long with confirmation that the second is on its way under the Western guise of "Diabolical Box".

During the Q&A session Hino noted that he would like all 6 Layton games to eventually be translated for the Western markets, with the second hopefully out in the next 6 months or so.

Do you think there will be a third trilogy after the next one is done? Smilie "A trilogy of trilogies!" Just like Star Wars was meant to be...

Definitely up for more Professor Layton. I was saddened when they stopped releasing the weekly puzzles for Curious Village.

Only one is out in the west so far, so I guess at least 5 more are confirmed on the way. I hope the movie is dubbed too.

I should say I was playing the US version, the weekly puzzles stopped coming a good few months ago.

Who says casual gamers dont do anything usefull?

The insanely large sales of this game is almost certainly thanks to brain training, imho.
(compare to the relatively poor sales of Point and Click games, for example).

When I first met Mr. Layton in an earily Nintendo Power article, I thought to myself, "Oh great, another crappy casual game." Boy, was I really, really wrong about this game. I freakin' love it! Smilie
