Rockstar: DSi Will Benefit GTA: Chinatown Wars

Will the DSi be a success? GTA developer Rockstar believes it'll help sales for Chinatown Wars.

Nintendo's 2nd revision to their dual screened beast makes its global debut in the first week of April, and publishers appear to have mixed ideas about the launch. Some feel that software sales could suffer due to cash being spent in the new portable, over new software releases.

Rockstar however, feel that the launch of the DSi will help bump up sales for the forthcoming release of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars exclusively on DS.

The launch of a new piece of hardware into the DS family will garner a new level of buzz and get some more hype going for the system. I think anyone releasing high profile titles on the DS will definitely benefit from that. We also think there is the potential to attract lots of new owners into the market, particularly from our fans who may have played our GTA titles on the PSP.
