Yuji Naka Considering Balance Board Game? on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

With SEGA and Prope's 'Let's Tap' heading to Nintendo's Wii in the US and Europe in the summer, just what is Yuji Naka going to work on next?  Well, if recent comments are to be believed, he may well be considering making use of the Balance Board peripheral that comes bundled with Nintendo's immensely successful product 'Wii Fit'.

Speaking with Play.tm recently, Naka-san (formerly of Sonic Team at SEGA) said, in response to a question about using the Balance Board:

Your suggestion about using the Wii Balance Board - I'd never actually thought of that! At this point it's pretty hard to imagine but I find it a very interesting idea that I'll definitely think about!

Wii Fit certainly showed that solely using the Balance Board can work, but there has to be a stack of variety on offer.

Do you think a rhythm title could be developed around just using the Balance Board?

Would be a good idea - there's a fair few boards out there, would be interesting to see what Prope could come up with

You know, I reckon they could do worse than making a Sonic balance board game. It would utterly restrict the controls forcing them to keep things simple.

Less posty, more gamey.

Yeah they can make a dance dance game with it. I think it will be wicked if they used it for other things as well.

When all is bad don't look for a easy way out. Because you wont know what to do once your out
