SEGA

While the website has yet to be updated with this news, the latest issue of Famitsu reveals SEGA's big surprise anyway. How Famitsuey of them.

Titled Pole's Big Adventure, this seems to be SEGA's answer to Mega Man 9. A downloadable title showing off very NES-like graphics, and parodying a few well known NES games, including the original Super Mario Bros. The game is sure to be filled with nostalgic gags.

The Japanese release date is set at February 3rd, and will be released for a measely 500 Nintendo Points on Wiiware, although it is unknown if it will also be heading to Live Arcade or PlayStation Network. In the meantime, check out the first scan. The official site will undoubtedly be updated in just over a day's time, so be sure to stick with C3 for updates, and discuss your thoughts on the reveal below.

Considering that 2-D is the only thing SEGA did well, This might be a good thing.Smilie

Smilie so its a mario rip off? look at the scans lol

I'd definitely say parody, not rip off.

Sounds good to me, maybe if it does well Sega will consider giving Sonic some retro treatment?

But the princess is in another castle!!

Videogameing needs more parodys.
A lot more.

What we need is, like \"Videogame!\" done in the style of Airplane!

(The funniest game every made, incidently, is a 5 minute one called \"Dont Eat The Mushroom\".
Its freeware, a module for the (also free) platformer Knytt Stories, and its utterly brillent. I very much recomend it.)

Yeah, I think people worry about copyright problems when parodying video games though.

Probably the best series for video game parodies is Paper Mario, especially Super Paper Mario.

I like what I see in the scan.

Too bad it isn't that Pole Dancing game, though Smilie

.:Zelda Adventures:.
u guys are DNA.

Brilliant!

is Paper Mario, especially Super Paper Mario.

nah, SuperStarSaga on the GBA, imho, has the best humour of the series.

Very self-referential stuff mostly though.

This looks like a game to get. 500 points isn't bad, either. I hope it comes out over here soon.

There have been some good 3D games that Sega have released. Shenmue, Sonic Adventure 1+2, Space Channel 5, Samba De Amigo.
