Resident Evil Wiimake Initial Impressions on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Those who have gotten hold of a Japanese copy of the the Wiimake of Resident Evil have written up initial thoughts.

Essentially it seems the game is the same as the GameCube remake of the PlayStation hit - including the graphical quality and presentation, offering multiple ways to play using the Wii Remote or classic controllers.

Wii version is virtually identical to the GC remake in terms of presentation, including lack of widescreen support (black bars).

Single disc, four different control schemes - aiming using the B button and Wii Remote.

Using the remote horizontally is also an option, as well as classic controller.

One control scheme allows waggle to get into and out of shooting mode.

Meh... Then I won't be getting this as I already have the GC version... They also kept the fixed angle camera didn't they? Jeez Capcom.. If you made a proper Resi game on the Wii I'm sure it would sell well! Look at UC and RE4, get off your arses and get working, Monster Hunter 3 is a good start, but make 'em dammit!

Hopefully they're already working on the RE game Wii fans really want. With RE0 and now RE1 being re-released on Wii, perhaps something greater in the RE series is coming.

Well, RE0 sold ~50,000 copies on Wii with no changes or advertising push, so that far exceeded expectations.

RE Remake on Wii is reported to have sold between 10,000-20,000 units on its first day, so it's looking to be another nice bit of basically free cash for Capcom whilst expanding the RE fanbase on Wii even more.

All signs bode well for an eventual RE2 remake Smilie

Yes, HOPEFULLY. or should I say they better be doing a freakin Resi game on the Wii to avoid riots! Rage aside, they MUST be doing something good to release on the Wii, heck a Megaman X game with MP3 controls would be awesome!!!
Capcom, put your S*** together and do something worthwhile on the Wii with good ads! Don't give us some Zack and Wiki kind of treatment ads, come on, RE5 has to happen! (who am I kidding..)

On the other hand, I guess this increases the chances of a proper RE2 remake on the Wii, which fans would like.
