Sega Brings World Destruction to US? on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Sega FTP snoopers have found what seems to be the Western version of Sega's World Destruction.

Developed by imageepoch, World Destruction is a well received RPG for DS (receiving 31/40 in Famitsu), where a young man has the unfortunate ability to destroy the world, but isn't sure why.

The developer announced plans to localise the game earlier this year at TGS, and now it looks like it's received a Western name: Sands of Destruction. A NeoGAF member was looking through the publisher's US website and found a folder containing World Destruction images with English text.

Whilst the game has yet to be officially confirmed, it's without much doubt that it will be heading to the West in some form.

If you knew you had the power to destroy the world, how did you find out? Did you destroy a previous world?

Looks very nice. Decent Famitsu score too. Deffo one to look out for.

The screenshots definitely look nice. I'll be keeping my eye out on this.

Can't say no to another RPG. Smilie

Siliconera did report a while back that imageepoch was working on the US version. They also were making some new tracks for the game's soundtrack and might change the difficulty up some. We just didn't know when it would be coming. And since there's no PR yet, we still don't know when.

Ya, I did mention that in article - hopefully first or second quarter next year.

Oops yeah, I can't read lol. But yeah, hopefully before or around summer we can see this. And hope the PR points out whether they'll even bring over the anime.

I'm going with April 2009, since I believe I saw someone saying that was the date originally found on SEGA's site. And yes, the difficulty is being upped, gameplay being slightly tweaked to be more streamlined and Mitsuda-san is re-recording some of the tracks for the US edition, from what I gather.

I've played the Japanese version and it's pretty damn similar to Xenogears...really shows that most of the team is from that game! Definitely a good thing :-D
