'Play on Wii' Selection Includes Dual Covers

By Shane Jury 27.11.2008 13

Nintendo will be including switchable covers for their 'Play on Wii' line of First-Party Gamecube ports.

One side of the cover will be the main game's coverart surrounded by the 'Play on Wii' branding, and the other side follows a more regular Wii game approach. Taken from Nintendo's Japanese site, you can see the differences in the bottom-righthand corner.

I'll try DK:JB if it's the right price. Can't find the GC version.

3800 yen = japanese equivalent of £24.99.
I'd have hoped for 19.99...but I suppose it's not too shabby - methinks I'll be picking up the metroids eventually (if I run out of new releases to buy...and at the rate I play games now - that's a long time away)

I'll get Pikmin 2, one of the few first party titles on GameCube that i consider to be "good" and that my collection still lacks, if not the only one.

Jungle Beat is worth every penny. Best platformer since Super Mario World in my opinion.

Good idea - shows it's clearly a Wiiport, and after you've bought it you can swap it over for a decent cover Smilie

Galaxy powns both.

£24.99 is a rip off compared to the ~£10-12 you pay for Xbox Originals.

That's true, though they do have some tweaks that make a difference. £15 would be a great price to set it, but it'll most likely be £19.99 - £25 Smilie

Mmm Mario Tennis sounds good on Wii, will Nintendo give these titles wifi or just a few extra levels and Wii controls only?

If they give us Wifi, I'll get most of them! I do have a decent Gamecube collection, but you can't find much variety here in Aus... Smilie

Ewww to pricey for me.

Exactly what Knighty said. \"Tacked on controls\" are just a cheap way of raising the price IMO, they shouldn\'t be much more than XBOX exclusives.

Theyre only this expensive because it\'s Nintendo. :/

Just as an extra note, I think the Xbox Originals are a bit over priced too when most can be picked up in shops for less. Publishers should be using services like this to get people to play the games, not exploit them for money. The day for these particular games doing that has gone by.

ive seen jungle beat for as little as a £10er.

Ive owned all the 1st party Nintendo games of last generation, wouldnt really wanna shell out stupid amounts of money on tacky ports
