EGM GameCube Scores
Fairly Average Ratings

American gaming magazines, the phrase usually denotes publications full of seeded advertisements, cheesy slogans and biased reviews. However, the highly acclaimed Electronics Gaming Monthly [egm] defeats the stereotype with an excellent selection of reviews and unbiased opinions from gaming experts.

The review system for the magazine is presented in a similar fashion to Japanese publication, Famitsu with several editors providing a score. However, unlike the magazine from the East, EGM provides each score out of ten from three editors instead of four. The scores from this month's edition can be found below:

GameCube

  • Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg - 7.0, 8.0, 8.5
  • FZero GX - 9.0, 7.5, 7.0
  • Mario golf - 8.0, 8.0, 7.5
  • P.N.03 - 4.0, 5.0, 4.0

    Mulitformat Games

  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer 2: Chaos Bleeds - 4.5, 6.5, 7.5
  • Freedom Fighters - 7.5, 8.5, 8.0

  • Nascar Thunder 2004 - 9.5, 8.0, 8.0
  • NHL 2004 - 8.5, 6.5, 7.0
  • NHL Hitz PRO - 7.5, 8.5, 8.0
  • The Simpsons hit and run - 8.0, 6.5, 7.0
  • Tiger Woods PGA route 2004 - 9.0, 9.0, 9.5

The scores vary, the GameCube exclusive ones had some quite excellent scores, with F-Zero GX receiving an average result from 2 other editors, Mario Golf taking the highest of the four games, in terms of average score and a general high selection of ratings for the exclusive titles. As for the multiformat games, Tiger Woods PGA route 2004 received the magazine's Game of the Month award, and carried the highest ratings for that month - an almost perfect golfing simulation. Notably is another quite high rated title of the Simpsons fame, which isn't as bad as some critics claimed it would be, and also racing title, Nascar Thunder 2004, received some excellent results.

The magazine also listed their selection of games that are most recommended to readers, "30 GAMES YOU MUST PLAY".
