Upon its release in Japan today, Famitsu have given Skip's Captain Rainbow a respectable score. Also, three new trailers of the game have been released.
According to the folks at Neogaf, the game received 8, 8,7, 8, for a total of 31/40.
The Famitsu cross-review in a nutshell : really great, funny characters and writing. The characters in particular are really expressive, and seem to all be living their own life withing the game (also thanks to the day/night cycle). Pretty enjoyable gameplay, good tempo. Humor is often indecent. Seems like the music is pretty good too. Overall, it would seem like they all really liked it, including the "7" guy.
The following Trailer has Lip, from Panel de Pon in Japan (what we know as either Tetris Attack or Puzzle League over here).
These next two have Mappo, a character from GiFTPiA, a Gamecube game that never made it out of Japan;
