New Zealand-based developer Stickmen Studios has been given permission by the mighty Nintendo overlords to work on Wii, both on disc-based and WiiWare games. Previously, Nintendo has only given a Wii-development licence to one other New Zealand company, Sidhe Interactive, who have developed a number of titles scattered over numerous genres, from Barbie games through to the reasonably well-received Gripshift.
It is unknown how Stickmen Studios have managed to woo Nintendo over given that they don't seem to have been responsible for...anything, according to their website, being a fairly new company. However, they have recently stated that they are working on an online console title, Dragon Riders, which seems to be a fair bet for their first foray into the land of Wii. Or could they go the WiiWare route first, being newcomers to the scene...?
