An online store has supposedly ripped off thousands of gamers anxious to break a sweat on Wii Fit this summer.
With an increasing shortage of Wii Fit packages across the United Kingdom punters have been scouring the web for offers: from eBay to European retailers.
Zavvi Direct, a website containing the name of popular high-street store Zavvi, recently claimed to have an abundance of stock, reports Computer Active. Those who purchased Wii Fit from Zavvi Direct were charged twice in some instances, yet none had received any signs of their shiny white scales. The site has since closed, with hope for those affected - claims that all purchases prior to being shut down will still be honored.
The actual Zavvi website was confused by the apparent scam: "We would love to know where this company is getting its stock of the Wii Fit from. In the UK and Europe it is in such high demand and short supply no one can get their hands on enough even us."
