Japan Sales: Front Mission, Family Trainer & More

By Adam Riley 07.06.2008 4

The latest Media Create charts are now in, showing off the new releases across all formats. Of particular note is how Monolith Soft's new RPG, Endless Frontier: Super Robot Wars OG Saga, a cross-over project with Banpresto, similar to the Namco x Capcom RPG from the PlayStation 2, also by Monolith Soft, has managed to sell more in its first week than any previously developed games on Nintendo formats, including the likes of Soma Bringer on DS and the Baten Kaitos duo on GameCube! Bandai Namco's revival of the old NES Family Trainer Power Pad is new in at No.6 with a respectable 40,000+ sales and Square Enix's Front Mission 2089, a DS remake of the mobile phone entry into the mech series of Strategy RPGs, has started far stronger than its predecessor, entering at No.13 and reportedly selling through nearly 50% of its initial stock in its first week.

Check out the results below, as well as hardware numbers:

Monster Hunter has nearly caught Wii Fit sales... so imagine when Monster Hunter 3 will be released!! Smilie

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Empty Space Training just reminds me of the Emperor's New Clothers Smilie

Glad Front Mission's doing alright this time round. With any luck it won't be long before S-E announces its localisation, and with its new process of almost simultaneous Western releases perhaps Europe won't miss out this time.

Good to see Endless Frontier: Super Robot Wars OG Saga doing very well. Smilie

6.) Family Trainer (Wii, Bandai-Namco) 43,785 | NEW
what the shiz does this teach? Smilie
and this....
10.) Empty Space Training (NDS, Benesse) 25,408 | NEW

EDIT: just checked nintendo jp - the first one\'s like a wii fit rip off =/
With a fail mat instead of the balance board.

And the second one I think should be more like \"3D space and graph visualisation training\" lol...but that doesn\'t really have the same ring Smilie
