I've been wondering recently how much of an effect the delay for PS3 is going to hurt them, missing out on the christmas period and all. The scariest thing is it probably won't all that much.
I've met countless Fanboys in my time, from all sides, although being in my social group, the ones I find most are the dreaded FF Fanboys. The chances of having a rational conversation with them about the game in question is akin to hitting your head agaisnt a brick wall multiple times.
The worst part is that these people are almost always also PS2 Fanboys. A good friend of mine will be getting the chance to borrow my gamecube so he can break the ubilical cord he has to his beloved PS2. Which he STILL believes is a better console. Dispite showing him identical games side by side on both.
So what does the PS3 offer to them, aside from motion sensetivity added post haste by Sony after seeing the astronomical success of the Wii at E3? The answer is desturbing. The same. Sony has once again refused to modify the Dual Shock Controller, something I consider a travesty against all that is good and rightous. Yet they seem happy to lap it up. Why are they comfortable to spend nearly 500 pounds on something which is a slightly increased clone of it's predecessor. If I wanted the same, I would of stuck with my megadrive (Genesis to the americans out there) and repeated Sonic 3 and Knuckles until my eyes Dilated to the size of Saucers.
I wonder how long Sony can last before they are forced to eat humble pie and quell their arrogance.
I can't imagine people paying for the pleasure of being insulted by the games giant for much longer, but you never know with fanboys.
