Nintendo of Canada have announced plans to increase the MSRP of amiibo in the country.
The figures are currently sold at $13.99 CAD, but this will increase to $15.99 on 1st April.
The company cites the current and future exchange rates between the US Dollar and the Canadian Dollar as the reason for the price hike. It is important to note, however, that this is only a suggested price and retailers will still be free to set any price for the products.
All the extra gold that Nintendo of Canada will receive as a result is going to a good cause, however - the Gold Mario amiibo is also heading to the country. The special edition will be released on 10th April and, unlike in North America, will not be exclusive to retailers.
Will our Canadian readers be picking up the forthcoming waves of amiibo despite the extra $2? Let us know.
