OK what's your stance on Nintendo just now, how much are you enjoying being a Cube gamer. I don't want to know any opinions about poor UK sales, poor advertising, and operating issues etc just simply how you are finding the exclusives and Nintendo developed games recently and in the near future.

Personally I think Nintendo are on fire just now, last year was pretty slow but still the games that did come were good, but the last few months have produced some of the best console games ever. From quirky little games like AC and Donkey Konga, stunning RPG's like Paper Mario and Tales, through to the sublime MP:E and now Four Swords.

Basically I'm finding being a Cube gamer at this moment too good, with AAA games sitting waiting to be played - then I look at the releases and see Jungle Beat, Starfox, Mario Tennis etc through to undated 2005 games like Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Geist, Zelda and maybe even Mario128 etc. All this and not mentioning multiplatform games like RE4, Killer 7, VJ2, Monkey Ball 3 and TS3.

It's actually becoming insane the amount hyped games still to come toward the end of this generation, a great improvement from the N64 situation, I may need to find a way to avoid the need for sleep to actually enjoy all being offered from Nintendo

HEAPS of games to play.... AND I just fixed my Dreamcast... which means a chance to play shenmue... and I got DreaSNES running on my cast... AND the DS... AND RE4 AND The new legend of Zelda... AND I just bought advance wars for 15 bucks AND I want to buy Monkey ball 3.

I'm going to die.

Its gathering dust. I'm not excited by anthing recent, to be honest. The xbox has so much I'm wanting to play just now- even older games that I've only just got around to.

CS is still taking up 2 or 3 hours a night though... Smilie

*slaps msenyszak*

Fair play to you, if you like RPG's you HAVE to buy Tales - your missing out on something very special Smilie

I post from work a lot of the time though.. Smilie

Work?

What do you do? It must involve a loooot of free time Smilie

I think this is the best we've had it since the snes and anyone who says the N64 was better is just saying that because of nostalgia. I had 5 games on n64 and there werent many more that I wanted but now there are in excess of 10 games i want and I own or have played about 15-20. Not all exclusive but mostly. I can't understand how people could go off nintendo now of all times yet endure the drought we had on n64. Tastes change I suppose.

People like to complain. "Sunshine was crap" is a common one and the most ridiculous opinion I've herad in ages. just because it wasn't a revolutionary new game that noone had ever expected doesnt mean it was crap. people need to get their standards straight when judging games because if there is a better platformer out this generation then I want to hear about it. Whether you like the subject matter or not sunshine was a godly show of technical ability and a sublimely crafted game. As a platform game it was technically almost flawless. to say that GTA (a flawed game in so many respects) is better only highlights a complete lack of sense in peoples judgement of games.

I work in a shop. whenever I have nothing to do, I run into the back office and post crap on here. Fun times.

In responce to KingDom.

As much as I love my Gamecube... I'd have to say that the N64 was better, and not just for nostalgic reasons. I think that I probably play it mor than my Gamecube even! But nothing gets played as much as my pretty little 'cast, because it also doubles as my SNES!!! Smilie

You really think the GameCube is "on fire" now?? Shit, if you liked Xbox you'd feel like that all the time. A few great games in the past 3 months really isn't "on fire" at all. That would be great games, single and multiplayer, every month.

Personally I think Nintendo have missed the boat with online, and they were stupid not to try it properly. Enough people have broadband internet now so there's really no reason not to.

And with exclusives, where's the nest Zelda? Mario? Super Smash Bros? Oh, I know, they're too busy making more Mario spin-offs to get the big games released...

Exactly KingDom, SMS is the best platformer this gen, a truly awesome game, and as Edge said it's the second best platformer ever - obviously M64 was top.

I think the main problem is there's been a big shift in people wanting realism in the UK, I look at my collection of around 40 GC games and its so varied in style and genre - but I bet there's a good majority of collections in this country that are 5 realistic shooters and 5 realistic racers. Yeah... same is true for aus Smilie

Thanks '10do.

In response to ChrisMGS There are good games being released every month (I don't keep up to date with UK release dates because I import) since september we've had MP:2E (In my estimation game of the year), Zelda:FS (don't knock it till youve tried it), pikmin 2 (brilliant, brilliant game), AC, PoP2, paper mario 2, Tales of symphonia, Donkey konga, wario ware, second sight and Mario power tennis. now thats 11 in four months, nearly three a month.

Chris I bought the xbox once upon a time, and got rid of it. I can only name 5 really good exclusive games that interest me, which is pathetic, I'm not a big fan of Western games and that is all the xbox has basically. Where's the character, where's the charm, the xbox does not have it! (all my opinion)

Off the top of my head the last good exclusive xbox game that came out, IMO, was Ninja Gaiden - about 8 months ago - the xbox imo is a wet blanket - far from on fire.

Even though I don't like Halo 2 that much I'll include it as it is obviously a good shooter. If it came to a choice between Halo 2 or Tales of Symphonia/Metroid Prime 2/Paper Mario/Four Swords - there is honestly only one winner - name me four AAA exclusives the xbox has had in the last 2 months!? And looking into the future all I see is KOTORII.

If you liked MP, that is considered it a 'must have' or AAA game, then you really need to get MP2. It's massively better than MP, refined in so many great ways.

Probably be players choice in 6/8 months.

I have been playing my GC alot recently too. Tales Of Symphonia, Paper Mario 2 and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes have been taking my time up. Ive began to get bored of Paper Mario now though, but the other two i still play loads. I'm getting Mario Power Tennis next month that i pre-ordered and cant wait for the new Starfox Smilie Mario and Zelda are too far away to be thinking about yet.

I wouldnt mind buying an Xbox because, recently lots of good games have come up. E.g. Conker, Halo, Halo 2 etc

When you say your bored of PM now have you not completed it yet (cause that would be worrying) or have you played through it once or twice now and given up?

And indeed, Starfox (drools a little) - not long till it'll hit our shores hopefully Smilie

Im at the creepy castle or whatever it's got, the place beyond the town with the cool 3D pigs, I'm pretty hooked just now - fantastic game, Glitsville was just stunning Smilie

Glitzville was good wasnt it? Smilie
The atmosphere was just like you were really competing. I only need 1 more Crystal Star and i got bored. But, before that i was hooked. 25 hours + thats how much play i have recently on my GC on just one game. As for, Mario Tennis, does anyone know any info about it, regarding comparisons to Mario Golf TT?

Oh yeah, thanks for recommending Tales Of Symphonia, it's great Smilie But can't beat the purple thing who pretends to be Dorr's child.

No they don't, when the Xbox gets 10% of it's users online, there is a real lack of people using it. Once again, online gaming rules, but it just doesn't appeal to enough people. It clearly appeals to you, as you love it, but you are not a reflection of the mass market. End of. I'd like the GC to go online, but I doubt I'd use it much.

As for me, well I have yet to open Metroid Prime 2 Echoes, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, or my own copy of Lord of the Rings of the Third Age. (Played my mates copy but not my own) All due to revision and work. But not only do I have Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time to complete, had to pause play in favour of the GBA, and Ocarina of Time GC version to play.

Then of course I've missed out on some games, Tales, Second Sight, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, F-Zero, Soul Calibure II, Pikmin 2, and then new games like Viewtiful Joe 2, RES 4, Prince of Persai: the Warrior Within, Killer 7 and Jungle Beat will need to be bought as well.

So I really need some more money and time. A lot of time!

Then there is the GBA to consider as well. It is a good time I think to have a GC.

I know Halo 2 was a let down, single player at least, but it seems to me you just dont know enough about the games on Xbox to appreciate it. It has many great games, online and off, which I have listed many times. It's not all FPSs and racing games if you look properly.

In the last 4 months: Fable, Kingdom Under Fire, Halo 2, Pro Evolution Soccer 4, and Ghost Recon 2.

And in the coming months we have KOTOR2, Mechassault 2, Conker, Far Cry, Republic Commando, Dead or Alive Ultimate, Timesplitters, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Oddworld Strangers Wrath, and Super Monkey Ball Deluxe.

Sure you wouldn't enjoy any of those?

Not to nitpick at lists, but GC is getting Choas Theory, Time Splitters and Far Cry (According to Ubi Soft) as well, though the online modes do make them have some Xbox leverage.

Mmm, and no doubt the Xbox versions will come out quite a bit earlier (again, referring to TS and SC), have superior sound and graphics (you know they will, just check out any IGN comparison article), and online multiplayer like you mentioned.
