What are your thoughts on Metal Gear Solid on Gamecube ??

I for one, am totally for it ! And if Ninty are working with Konami this could be one of the greatest games EVER !! I loved the first one, ive played through it at least 5 times, the second one was pretty good but way too short and it was more of a movie. The Graphics could be the same as MGS2 because they were actually pretty good. As long as it is as good as the first one ill lap it up straight away. who knows, maybe they will include a skateboarding bit (Evolution Skateboarding, Substance) in the main game for a bit of a laugh ! What do you think?

As I said in my post under the news story, I'm all for it. A remake with a twist for the GameCube, a brand new title for the GBA (which if at least half as good as the GBC version, will be brilliant!) and the possibility of unlocking the original NES Metal Gear when hooking the games up and completing certain tasks...

How does that sound?

I don't think much could go wrong with that...

in my opinion it will make a welcome addition to the CUBE's game library as stealth games are scarce at the moment. it should attract loads of new gamers as well as its exclusive!

TBH if its exclusive its only likely to be a remake of mgs1 (no way would konami make mgs3 exclusive to cube).

But that is no bad thing as its a brilliant game that I would pay

I'm well up for it, i hope you can unlock the old NES title as i never had the chance to play it.

I'm for it too. I havn't played the original but i do have MGS2 and i thought that was great. Can't wait!

That would be cool, but then everybody would diss Ninty because they keep re-hashing old games

I can't wait, and have played and enjoyed both MGS 1+2. Hopefully this new one will be a unique game for the gc, and not just a re-hash of MGS2 or Substance.

If so i will definitely get it. Even if it is a re-worked version of a previous game, that has some new features, like the ability to connect and use the gba, I will probably get it also.

I may get it, but to be honest i've never played MGS before, so i'll have to see a review.

Stealth games aint really my thing...but it'll be gd to see more games coming to GC.

Im not sure if I would get it if it was the same as MGS1 with improved graphics. Dont get me wrong, its one of the best games ever, but as I said, ive completed it al least 5 times. If there was an extra mode, an extra game or a completely different storyline, I suppose it wouldnt be MGS1, but that would be good.

I think it will be a game like a spin off from the series, not metal gear solid 3, but maybe like ff:CC

You know, as in 'Survivor' was a spin-off of 'Big Brother'.

Yeah, but I reckon it will be something completely new, and will be better for it. Heres for a longer game than MGS2 !

thats what he means. he thinks that it wont follow the same story as the first two games.

I hope that the new cube game follows/continues on with the story that the prvious 2 MGS games laid down.

Wouldn't it be funny if Metal gear 3 was annouced to be exclusive to GC!

But it will most likely be a remake of 1 or 2, or perhaps both!

Latest word is (and I'm surprised no one on here's picked up on this yet) that Konami is in a hot debate about whether to bring MGS2: Substance to the GameCube as well as the definite MGS: Remake.

Not bad, eh? Oh, and MGS3 won't be announced for the GC yet...It will be unveiled at E3 for the PS2 (obviously) and maybe the PC and XBOX, and of course that's even before the GC exclusive remake of the original hits the stores.

Oh, and still no word on what we'll be getting from this intriguing GC-GBA link-up that's planned. I'm still hoping for the NES Metal Gear to be an unlockable extra...

So if it is a remake. Can we expect a cool looking Metal Gear? Just like Resident Evil remake?

Would be looking nice (Splinter Cell maybe?)
