Who is getting this? Why or why not? Anyone else seen the good and the bad reviews on it I am so confused .ie. IGN=90% CUBE=69%. But it should be with me tomorrow morning first thing via amazon.

You've got good taste my friend, good taste indeed. It's odd, I never liked the GTA series, but with the various things I've heard about TCSmilieOLA, it seems that it's worthy of a test. The best thing about the title is, for me, interaction - apparently the AI is superb, and act like regular people should, the environment can be destroyed as well as numerous different situations that effect the final outcome.

One thing though, wonder why CUBE rated it so low?

As for buying it, I'll most likely pick it up with Double Dash tommorow or sometime next week. Smilie

I really want this game. I don't think it's the GTA beater it was hyped up to be but I think it will be thoroughly enjoyable.

Lets hope they get this to you after the fiasco with MKSmilieD.

I'm not to sure, i have both GTA on the PS2 and although i enjoyed them i am pretty much done with this type of game for a while.

Maybee a rental?

When you cycled by

Here began all my dreams

The saddest thing Ive ever seen

And you never knew

How much I really liked you

Because I never even told you

Oh, and I meant to

Are you still there ?

Or ... have you moved away ?

Or have you moved away ?

I think that it won't beat GTA but does take the genre in a slightly more innovative direction with the ability to replay certain scenes of the story with literally each thing you do effecting your outcome - a bit like life in general. As for the combat and action sequences, I think that it's perhaps a little more controlled, and maybe isn't as exhaggerated as the GTA titles.

However, we'll see how the game turns out after tommorow. Smilie

Agreed, you can't go wrong with a rental! Smilie

However, a thought that just came to me - sound - from what I've heard, in my view, it's pathetic - hip hop at its worst without any regard for what's happening on screen.

You thinks that bad it hasn't arrived and probaby won't so I have to wait till monday and then email them to tell them it still hasn't arrived. All of which will take another week! Bastard Amazon very good with DVD's though.

I am looking forward to GTA as I thought GTA was promoting a bad image of a genre it had created hopefully the idea that you are a good cop will pursuade people to stay a good cop...........well we can dream.

Agreed - apparently players can unlock various endings dependant on this, and additional secrets with the different results can ensure people stick to the good side of the law. Needless to say, I don't mind the dark side sometimes. Smilie Smilie Smilie

The genre will always be mildly violoent just look at The Simpsons:Hit and Run you can hit people in the car but they don't die which is good and eventually if you cause to much damage then the police come after you. Smilie

The bad reviews aint put me off, I will be getting this game after X-Mas....when I get some more cash in!

I now officially own it yay! Any questions? I'll answer them best I can. And don't expect replys quickly going to college in about 30 mins.

Seeing as how straight and narrow I am *everybody coughs*, I'll probably get promoted at the end of the game, and cry if my car gets stracthed.

Anyhoo, I'm thinking of getting this game for my bro'. I think he felt left out 'cos he didn't play GTA, because I said I wanted Nintendo.

I'm older, I misused my power, but who cares? Smilie

Am I the only one who has this title? Smilie Smilie Smilie

I want true crime its ment to be brill and the roaming area is huge! :bond:

Got a few questions:

1) What are your views on the driving aspect - easy to control, lose, tight?

2) Is the music suitable to the game?

3) Some sites have noted, well, one site noted that "the city is too big, which ruins the game" - do you agree?

4) Is there a "Random Crime" mode that can be accessed at any time?

5) Overall, what would you rate the game?

Cheers

I was pleasantly surprised when I got back home from school today to find a misterious package on my front drive, opened it and there it is! True Crime for Sumacol Smilie

1) I think it's a bit tight, too hard to turn normally, but that can be dealt with using the hand brake, wher eu loose speed, but turn better.

2)I thought it wouldn't when I got the vids off IGN, but it is, actually. Fits in ok, and I even foudn myself turningthe TV up! Smilie

3)IMO, the bigger the city, the more freedom and thus, the better the game! Smilie

4)Dunno bout at any time, but at the moment there isn't... only the story mode and 'options' (I'll have to try that one out later...lol)

5)I'd give it around a 8... it's very innovative and fun to play, however the graphics side of the game could have been worked on a bit more, but nah, it's all kool. Fighting engine works well too, altho you'll most probably end up button-bashing Smilie

Is it me, or is it hot here?

Apparently, one of the coolest things about the game is accuracy - I've only been to LA once in my life, so I can't really mention it, but I visited the IGN game board for TC and a member described how he/she basically went for a tour around home, which must be immensely good - even finding his school.

Imaging, though, being able to take a spin around your own home town, must be awesome. Smilie

Because Sumacol couldn't answer it guess I will. Throughout the game when your given free roam, ie no hurry to the next mission, random crimes will come through on your radio and its your choice whether you choose to take them or not.
