lol, easy enough for all of you guys to say import
we got a few things called tarrifs here with the US and it "GE" and "Nuclear" polices
basicaly it costs more to import than to buy local, and when you hardely have enough to buy loacl, importing is out of the question
any way,a good game in my opioun would be an online RPG thats free to play (pay for more features) and is on the DS, and funnely enough, ive figured out most of the systems for it
the only few blockades are listed here along with all the other info ill need for other nintendo consoles game develoment

Why would NoE want to release loads of good games at the right time (christmas) when they could release them in the spring when its too late? You guys need to learn about buisness.
Far from it, this is why the business decision was made to hold games back.
The DS is the top selling system in the UK with both new and old Software selling at unprecedented levels. That's Nintendogs (all versions), Animal Crossing, Sonic Rush, Mario Bros., Brain Training, Pokemon and others all selling through and Yoshi's Island about to join them. DS is now the most popular platform in the UK and loads of people are buying it for the games that made it that.
What would releasing a heap of new games do? One of two things:
~ Take away the above sales when they still have life in them and at a busy period.
~ Suffer because people want the above games and wouldn't notice the new games.
Market saturation, or flooding the market, isn't good business practice. Holding back a few games for spring when the Christmas buyers want new games is.
Then there's Wii with the obvious need for consumer spending.

Exactly. The DS is selling with hardly any new games just imagine what it will be like when all the great games hits.

True, the amount of Japanese DS games pawns the 360 selection.

Surely this topic's existence shows that there's market starvation.
Surely this topic's existence shows that there's market starvation.
Age of Empires a few weeks back (two?), Pokemon was recent (last week?) and now Yoshi's Island on Friday. I don't think anyone can argue that's a) not a bad range of genres and b) healthy choice for new, big name, titles.
If there was starvation then why the hell is there so many charting DS games each week?

Maybe. But the majority of DS owners (especially new) won't think to do that.

Because the DS is aimed at people who buy a lot of shite?

Reviews and not sales for the most part say what is and is not shite, and in general most of the top selling DS games earned their chart placings and still do.
We'll ignore Bratz: Diamond What-Ever-the-Hell-It's-Called for the time being, it's a Nintendogs hangover
So is what Nintendo of America is doing (releasing lots of good games for Christmas) bad buisness and the market will be saturated?
You can't just compare the markets like that, as I'm sure you know.
They run on different release schedules; different advertising, different demographs, different strategies.
Age of Empires, Pokemon and Yoshi's Island are good games and they are coming out at Christmas. They've probably been out for a few months in America (longer for AoE...).
That's business and not just gaming, look for High Def TV's, Music or anything else. We have our own market and one that isn't universal for a reason.

I'm not talking about new DS owners, i'm giving people here who are moaning advice and i'm sure alot of people here have bought stuff online before.

Things must be pretty dire in the UK then--I play and enjoy my DS every single day; from old games I'm just picking up like Partners in Time, to new stuffs like Star Fox, I couldn't be happier with the system, honestly.
Now if Nintendo would just get Phantom Hourglass out the door!
well im gonna sell my PSP so i can get my family and my girlfriends presents
Im with Grumbler, I mean who buys games this time of the year? There is no "Holiday Market" worth bringing out new games for.
I think Nintendo are right in waiting for Q2 2007 for their next big game when there will be more of a market wanting presents.

I've read in a few places that Phantom Hourglass is being pushed back to the other end of 2007, as in Sept/Oct. Same with Super Mario Galaxy. Really sucks balls.
Being a new DS owner, I have quite a bit of catching up to do. But still, after doing some research and hunting around on eBay, there can't be more than 8-10 DS games that I consider worthy of owning. And by the time I buy a few more old one's, I'll be at a loss until the next big hitters are released (which is months away).
Just looked at Gameplay, in my opinion there are much better new games available for PSP this Christmas. Tekken Dark Resurrection, Pro Evolution Soccer 6, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, Medal of Honor Heroes and Sonic Rivals to name just a few.
Almost makes me regret selling my PSP.

If those games actually interest you than maybe you should.
What DS games do you have? It's hard to make a recommendation when we don't know what you already own.
EDIT: just looked at your collection.
Here are some games that I own that I recommend:
Club House Games
Animal Crossing Wild World
Mario and Luigi Partners in Time
Star Fox Command is alright
Here are some games that I don't own, but get good reviews:
Yoshi's Island
Castlevanias
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorny
Age of Empires
Trauma Center
Children of Mana
I don't know about Europe, but all these games are out in the USA. Along with many others I have my eye on!

I'd much rather play games like GTA, MoH, and Pro Evo on a home console like the 360 rather than the PSP. I tried playing GTA on one once, and was like, how do you change the options so you use the D-Pad to move? Oh, wait a second, you can't! It's a pain.
My ideal set up right now, judging by what games are available, would be a 360 and a DS. The 360 has a bunch of quality online games, which last forever, and the DS had enough decent one's to make it worth having. If you want to play music, get an iPod, if you want to watch films on the go, get a laptop. Simple.
Soundworks said:It's a shame they're all PS2 games, apart from Sonic Rivals which will probably be shite... I mean it has Silver in it >_>

*checks games I have that I'd reccommend...*
Feel the Magic: XY-XX
Warioware Touched!
Kirby: Canvas Curse
Super Mario 64 DS
Another Code: Two Memories
Trauma Center: Under The Knife
Mario Kart DS
Tetris DS
Mario Slam Basketball (or whatever it's called over here)
Final Fantasy III
DQ Heroes: Rocket Slime
42 All-Time Classics
And I'm sure there's plenty more. I'm just glad that I don't actually pay for all these games, otherwise I'd be skint.
I actually wanted the DS lite pink peral really bad for christmas, & for some reason nintendo stopped sending them out temporialy So for christmas my fiance got me two pokemon games and a pokemon case for the DS, but no DS. I was told by a guy that works in Gamestop that DSs probably won't come back in till the end of January or even Febuary. ahhhh I'm going crazy
