"(the equivalent storage space of 500 songs at best quality)"
Hardly. That'd be 500 songs which are 4 minutes long at 128kbs. Best quality my arse!
Sounds good.

If only I had an SD card and a card reader...
Raz. Remember previously when you (or was it jb)first announced this, I said that it would be
I wonder why they took video support out of it?
I think it's referring to the non techy people who download music from limewire and would listen to a song at 64kbs and not complain.
... They took out the video? Fuck off Nintendo >_>
AMAZING!!
I can't wait! I knew it'd be a matter of time, it's great that Nintendo are trying to catch up on what they don't have from PSP so they can KILL IT AT 7 DIFFERENT ANGLES AT THE SAME TIME!!!!
EDIT: Even if it ain't that good
I won't be getting it anyway, I hardly even use my iPod...

No video!?
Pfft.
They better add video if they want this to be a PSP beater...
Yeah
I can't believe they were stupid enough to make it MP3 & not MP4, do they really think they can get away with "not bothering" about the west?
The west love this MP shit more than anyone

Well since CD quality is 10mb/minute, more like 20gb

Best quality from an Mp3, though, is 320Kb/s.
Best quality digital music is ripping using EAC, in secure mode, to FLAC. Works out at around 400MB an album.

They don't really need it to equal all the PSP's features, to be honest I don't even think they need to release the MP3 player at this point in the lifecycle. Can anyone honestly say they'll buy this to listen to MP3's along with their normal MP3 player?
I guess, it would get the non-techy people who don't have MP3s, to get into them... I mean since it's Nintendo chances are they'll try to make it "baby friendly" meaning it'll be a simple way to get music on the go...
People who already have small MP3s won't bother with it anyway, & I only would have bothered if they included movie too. Which the Japanese Play-Yan did, so why the fuck not the Western Version?!
yay-yan. ahem.. sorry. anyway, can i just weigh in and say im not bothered for video playback? reason being if i have enough time to watch the screen, i would play a game. mp3 is fine with me, thanks Nintendo.
MP3...pshh!! AAC all the way!
