Despite people predicting doom and gloom after Namco Bandai's announcement that its downturn in profits could be attributed to a lack of high performance of its Nintendo DS titles, the company is back for more fun and games.
Rousseau the Thief is an intriguing new game that looks set to use the DS in ways far more clever that how other developers have used its features so far. Jeux-France.com has the translated details from the latest edition of Japan's Nintendo Dream publication, stating that the 2006 release game is a comic adventure pitting players in the role of a young thief called Rousseau.
He can change his appearance quickly to disguise himself and avoid capture by the long arm of the law and grant him access to places he should not really enter. The clever aspect is that gamers, obviously using the idea from Pac-Pix, can draw the disguises on his face themselves!
The interactivity certainly sounds impressive, and with any luck the quality will be up to Namco's usual high standards.
