The Future of Pokémon? Flowers on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

What's in store for the future of the Pokémon series? A teaser suggests that flowers could be involved.

The landscape of Nintendo's popular franchise has always been coated in greenery, from the pixilated grass to the beasts themselves, but the future of the series could see crops sprouting to something a bit more significant.

When speaking to the Pokémon Company International's Director of Consumer Marketing J.C. Smith, at the 2015 Pokémon World Championships, NintendoWorldReport asked Smith to give a cryptic teaser for the series future, to which he simply replied, "Flowers".

What do you think the term refers to? Could it be a teaser for a new land that's flower centric, or perhaps a new grass critter?

Flowers; Flowers (Probaly Roses, Violets and hyacinths) Roses are popular in The Netherlands. Netherlands based regio confirmed?

I never even thought about this, but people are saying that the new games will be titled Pokémon Rose and Violet. It makes sense to me, though there's plenty of grass types already, and Johto was already partially flower-themed, so I doubt they're going to make towns with names based on flowers again. But then, maybe they don't have any other choice. The map might be a bit more grassy than previous maps.

I live in the Netherlands, and I can't say roses are that amazingly popular here. You're thinking of tulips. The Netherlands also doesn't have *that* many lush areas, so... meh.

It's weird... we'll see.

Rose and Violet! I was also thinking flowers may be used in the names and was playing around with different possibilities. Rose and Violet are pretty good for flowers.
