The 3DS version of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 will support multiplayer and also have a new "Ring Keep" mode.
The fan-favourite 2D platformer, originally released on the SEGA Mega Drive (Genesis) back in 1992, is coming to Nintendo 3DS this month in Japan. The game will boast stereoscopic 3D support, and also include what SEGA are calling the "Ring Keep" mode. The difficulty setting sees players beginning a level with 10 rings, but the amount of rings that spread after taking a hit halves each time.
The 3DS version also incorporates local multiplayer, however both players will need a copy of 3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in order to play.
Finally, the game includes the usual Quick Save feature, and the chance to try either the Japanese or Western versions.
