Pokemon Spin-off Pokepark Confirmed for Wii on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo has confirmed a new Poké-title on the way in time for Christmas, letting fans make friends with their favourite Pokémon.

Known as Poképark, the Wii game sees you taking control of a Pikachu, playing through a series of mini-game with fellow critters. You'll make friends through battle, tag and quiz mini-games, and co-operate with your new team in advanced areas. Want to relive all the action? There's a chance to take snaps to treasure that special moment.

Poképark's due out in Japan on December 5th, priced at 4,800 yen.

I guess people should stop holding out hope for a fully fledged Pokemon offering on the Wii. Especially when Ninty said it wasn't going to happen, and also when you take into account the name PokePark. Doesn't sound like the more core of titles does it? Eh, I'll wait to see it in motion, might be nice.

I wasn\'t hoping for a fully fledged Wii offering (though that would be nice), I was hoping for something like a Pokémon Stadium 3. Or even a Pokémon Colosseum 3. Smilie Still, should have guessed that it wouldn\'t be a big title, considering HG/SS was released so recently...still, we don\'t really need MORE spin-offs, even if Pokémon spin-offs do tend to be pretty good usually.

The fact that you can take Snapshots at any time makes it almost like a Pokémon Snap 2.

But other than that, megafacepalm.
I wanted an RPG. Nintendo really fail.

yay more "i'll buy it cause it says pokemon on the front" crap. Atleast it looks theres less recycled Pokemon Stadium crap unlike Pokemon Channel, really, N64 pokemon on a gamecube game, suck.

I think we should wait to see how this goes. It wouldn't surprise me if it went Ranger/mystery Dungeon style. Those are great games imo. (then again I love pokemon, don't take me seriously).

Smilie I expected something 'better'. But at the bright side, you play as Pikachu.
Meh, I will wait and see what the reviews says about this game. Maybe it will be good enough, who knows.
